The Liard Aboriginal Women’s Society (LAWS) and Watson Lake RCMP have broken new ground with a unique community safety initiative. “Together for Justice” is a protocol for building community safety that confirms the new relationship that has been built between LAWS and the local RCMP. On International Women’s Day, Friday March 8, 2013, we celebrated our shared journey and commitment to continue a collaboration that advances safety for women.

The Liard Aboriginal Women’s Society


The Liard Aboriginal Women’s Society (LAWS) is a non-profit, charitable, community-based, aboriginal organization providing social development services to the Kaska Nation in the Yukon and northern British Columbia. The organization was established and registered in the Yukon as a non-profit society in 1998. The Society is served by a six member Board of Directors, an Executive Director, and an Administrative Assistant. Offices of the Society are located in Watson Lake, Yukon.
