A Community Based Plan for Regional Substance Abuse TreatmentWith funding from Northern Strategy Trust the Liard Aboriginal Womens Society will undertake a two-year participatory planning process to develop a plan for community-based substance abuse and detoxification. The planning will ensure broad community support and promote multiple partnerships for local buy in. Deliverables will include a three-year strategic plan with a three-year implementation plan and process deliverables such as workshops, speakers forums, world café, storytelling, focus groups, video corners, and multiple communication tools (eg newsletters, session briefs, brochure, website, and budget) to ensure community and leadership support and buy in. Project Details The Liard Aboriginal Womens Society will complete a planning strategy to clarify how best to approach community based holistic substance abuse treatment and detoxification. The planning strategy will detail how best to use existing human and financial resources, programs, services ands facilities and will determine how gaps can be resolved. Here's an update from Ann! Hello Everyone…………..Hope you all enjoyed the wonderful summer and got your moose and wood for the warm winter to come. Here are the results of the mini survey that we gave out at our dinner. Please mark your calendars for October 29th and 30th as the next date for our Regional Treatment Planning session. This will be a community visioning exercise so please encourage all your family, friends and neighbors to come out and give their input to this important project.
